We can provide inline inspection services which include pre-inspection run consulting, locating above ground markers (AGMs), or generating maps.
Mainline Integrity Services can install permanent monuments at selected AGM locations, adding needed reference points to the pipeline. The GPS location is determined for these permanent monuments so they can be mapped using simple Street Atlas USAŽ software. These maps are used during tool tracking runs and to facilitate rehabilitation work on the pipeline. Later, they can be used for one-call response and spill planning.
Our tool tracking services include cleaning pigs, dummy pigs, and geometry tools and MFL tools. The tracking is performed by experienced technicians using field computers to efficiently and accurately find AGM locations while tracking the tool, even under adverse conditions. This level of technology helps reduce the number of people in the field and their related expenses. Accurate AGM deployment and record keeping allows the tool vendor to correlate the AGMs with the tool data, providing more accurate anomaly location.
How permanent are your AGM markers? Consider the benefits of using the same AGM locations five years from now. Having consistent reference points facilitates the overlay of the two inspections to track changes in the condition of the pipeline. Proper planning can greatly enhance the utility of your final inspection reports.
